New Concept Art for Imprinted by James Poirier

One of the challenges of a "director bait" script like Imprinted is that it is hard to visualize some of the more horrific elements. Luckily for me, actor/writer/storyboard artist James Poirier came to my rescue. I first met James at the Jacksonville Film Festival, where his screenplay The White Death took first prize (and my own Heaven Sent, co-written with John Leary, took third).

James offered to read my latest script, the sci -fi horror Imprinted, and then came up with two images that grasp the feeling of the film exactly. The first shows Vivien, the twelve year old astronaut who has to go into space alone for eight years, along with the three grown male astronauts that have been "copied" and "installed" in her mind, and a fourth, stow-away mystery imprint.

The second image shows one of the astronaut imprints looking at Earth receding out the single window in the space capsule. In addition he sees his own reflection, which is actually Vivien's face, because he is inhabiting Vivien's body. In this image Vivien is older, on her way back to Earth.
